Free Veterans Day Deals In The St. Louis Area

Sunday is Veterans Days and many restaurants and other businesses in the St. Louis area are honoring veterans with discounts, deals and freebies.

Many of the deals are extended to active duty military as well as vets and retired military.

Here’s a sampling:

  • Applebee’s: A  free Applebee’s signature entree on Sunday. Dine-in from limited menu; proof of military service required.
  • California Pizza Kitchen: Free pizza and a nonalcoholic beverage at California Pizza Kitchen on Sunday, Nov. 11, or Monday, Nov.12.
  • Denny’s: Denny’s will be offering free all-you-can-eat pancakes from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12
  • Dollar General: Veterans and military get 11 percent off purchases at Dollar General in honor of Veterans Day on online purchases Nov. 8-11 online and Nov. 11 in stores.
  • Hooters: 10 free wings with a drink purchase at participating locations on Nov. 11. with a valid military or veteran’s ID.
  • Krispy Kreme:  Free doughnut and small coffee on Sunday at participating locations. Some locations are giving a free cup of coffee on Sunday only. Others are offering a free cup of coffee and a free doughnut on Monday, Nov. 12.
  • Little Caesars Pizza: Free order of cheesy bread on Sunday, Nov. 11
  • Lone Star Steakhouse:  Free entree on Monday, Nov. 12 for all veterans and active duty military.
  • Massage Envy:  Free one-hour massages for the military between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at some locations.
  • Max & Erma’s: A free Best Cheeseburger in America combo meal on Nov. 11; ncludes choice of soup or salad and a freshly baked chococlate chip cookie.
  • McCormick & Schmick’s: Free meal Sunday from a special Veterans Day menu. Reservations are strongly suggested.
  • Olive Garden: Free entree for active duty military members and veterans  from special menu on Sunday, Nov. 11.
  • Outback Steakhouse: A free Bloomin’ Onion and Cok Nov. 11-12;  then Military Mates 10 Percent Off Discount Nov. 13-Dec. 31.
  • Pizzeria Uno: A free pizza or entree when you buy one at participating locations Nov. 11 and 12.
  • Red Lobster: Free appetizer for Veterans Day at Red Lobster on Sunday, Nov. 11.
  • Red Robin: Free Tavern Double to veterans and active military on Monday, Nov. 12.
  • Red Roof Inn: A 15% discount on rooms the entire month of November as part of Red Roof Inn’s Veterans Month promotion.
  • Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes:  Free meal Sunday and Monday, Nov. 11 and 12, for past and present military with the purchase of another regular priced meal.
  • Texas Roadhouse: Lunch from a 10-item menu is free for veterans Monday, Nov. 12; includes some soft drinks and sweet tea.
  • T.G.I. Fridays:  Free lunch at participating T.G.I. Fridays for active and retired military between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12.

Free: Veterans Day Parade In Downtown St. Louis On Saturday

Show your support for our Armed Forces personnel and veterans at the St. Louis Veterans Day Parade in downtown St. Louis on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.

The event begins with patriotic music at 10 a.m. and a ceremony at 10:30.

Activities begin at 10:30 a.m. with a ceremony to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces on the Chestnut Street patio and steps of Soldiers Memorial.

A fly-over of vintage aircraft will follow the ceremony at approximately 11:55 a.m.

Soldiers Memorial is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday but will be closed during the ceremony.

A Massing of the Colors formation will lead the parade which begins at noon at Tucker and Chestnut. The parade then moves west on Chestnut to 14th Street, south on 14th Street to Market, west on Market to St. Louis Union Station at 20th Street.

Free: Admission To National Parks On Certain Days In 2012

The National Park Service has announced the fee-free days it will hold at more than 100 national parks during 2012.

They are:

  • January 14-16, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
  • April 21-29, National Park Week
  • June 9, Get Outdoors Day
  • September 29, National Public Lands Day
  • November 10-12, Veterans Day weekend

Note: The waiver coversentrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.

Free For Vets, Active Military Personnel: Lunch At Texas Roadhouse On Veterans Day

 

If you’re a veteran or active military personnel, Texas Roadhouse wants to buy you lunch on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.

Participating restaurants are offering vets and military folks can choose a free entree from a list of 10 on the “Veterans Day Lunch Menu” and also receive a free soda, iced tea or coffee. The deal is good from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for dine-in only and is good for active, former or retired military only. It does not include spouses or children. Proof of service is required.

Free For Vets, Active Military: Meal At Chili's On Veterans Day

Chili’s wants veterans and active military personnel to report to their restaurants on Veterans Day.

The company is offering vets and military personnel a free lunch (or early dinner) on Friday, Nov. 11. The deal is good from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With proof of military service, they can choose a lunch combo of either Margarita chicken tacos, Santa Fe chicken wrap, Oldtimer with cheese, Margarita grilled chicken, chicken crispers or Cobb salad.

T.G.I. Friday’s is honoring veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day tomorrow, Nov. 11, 2011 with a free meal.

Vets and active military members will get a free entree when they buy another entree.

The deal is good Friday only. Proof of service will likely be required.

Free: Lunch Or Dinner For Vets, Active Military At The Olive Garden On 11/11/11

Veterans and active military personnel can enjoy a free lunch or dinner (from a menu offering six items) at the Olive Garden on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.

Proof of military service is required. Accepted forms: U.S. Uniform Services Identification card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Veterans Organization card (American Legion or VFW), DD214 certificate, Veteran Identification Card (VIC) or photo in uniform.

The offer is good for dine-in only and does not cover drinks and gratuity.

Free: Bed & Breakfast Stay For Military Personnel On Nov. 10

If you’re a member of the military or a vet, here’s a deal for you.

The Better Way To Stay‘s  B & B For Vets program is offering a free night’s stay for military personnel and vets and a guest at a participating bed and breakfast.

B&Bs  across the country are donating the free room for one night’s stay to honor service men and women for Veterans Day.

We’re told this deal sold out fast last year.  Check the list for participating properties and then check again later as no locations are coming on board. Currently 327 inns are participating and more are being added.

The free room is good for one night only–the night of Thursday November 10, 2011. You make reservations directly with the inn.
