Greensfelder Recreation Center, 550 Weidman Rd., Manchester, in west St. Louis County will be the scene of the Fall Art Fair at Queeny Park. No need to worry about rain or heat–the center is climate-controlled.

The fine art and craft show, presented by the Greater St. Louis Art Association, features more than 130 juried artists from 20 states. It’s one of the longest-running shows in the bi-state area.

Jefferson Barracks County Park is hosting a Civil War Symposium on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26.
Topics to be discussed include Civil War mounted infantry, the CS Hunley, the common soldier, Jefferson Davis, Mourning Customs, The Battle of Blackwell, Ulysses S. Grant, the 43rd Illinois Volunteer infantry, momen’s roles in the Civil War, locating grave Sites and medicine of the Civil War.
The symposium will be held at the Jefferson Barracks Visitors Center 345 North Road, St. Louis. The event is free but donations will be accepted.
This seminar is co-sponsored by the St. Louis County Department of Park and Recreation and the Friends of Jefferson Barracks.

The Cliff Cave branch of the St. Louis County Library will show The Help at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012. The branch is at 5430 Telegraph Road, Oakville.
The controversial movie is about the relationship of a white fledgling writer and the African-American housekeeper of the writer’s best friend.
The Jamestown Bluffs branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Thor at 2 p.m. June 15, 2012. The branch is at 4153 North Highway 67, north St. Louis County
The movie is about a powerful but arrogant warrior who is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard. He is sent to live among humans on Earth where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.
The Jamestown Bluffs branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Scooby Doo 3 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012. The branch is at 4153 North Highway 67, north St. Louis County.
The movie is about the Mystery Inc. gang reuniting at an island resort to investigate strange goings on.
 Beastly
The Jamestown Bluffs branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Beastly at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 in a program for teenagers. The library is at 4153 North Highway 67, north St. Louis County.
Beastly is a modern retelling of the classic fable Beauty and the Beast; a New York teen is transformed into a monster to find true love.
