The final FREE program in the Historic Holiday Noon Concert Series takes place St. Louis’ Old Courthouse at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.
Traditional holiday music will echo under the rotunda of the Old Courthouse, which will be beautifully adorned with authentic Victorian decorations. Bring a lunch to enjoy during the performance.
St. Peter School Choir will perform at this week’s concert.
St. Louis Irish Arts will present the Dec. 19 concert.
The Old Courthouse, located in downtown St. Louis, is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch) administered by the National Park Service.
Singers, performers and a food demonstrator will give you a holiday snapshot of an 1812 St. Louis Holiday at the Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis at noon on Saturday, Dec. 15.
The Old Courthouse is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch).
La Pettis Chanteurs will present a concert from noon to 1 p.m. The Traveler’s Dream will also perform with dancing with by Deborah Hyland, food historian Suzanne Corbett will give a cooking demonstration.
Cookies and cider will be served. Admission is free.
Get a glimpse of the way the holiday was celebrated back in 1772 at the “1772 St. Louis Holiday” program at the Old Courthouse Rotunda at noon, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2012. The Old Courthouse is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch).
This snapshot in time features concerts, performances, and demonstrations. The Sperreng Middle School Fiddlers perform at noon with a concert by the “Peacocks,” dancing with Deborah Hyland and 18th century holiday food demonstrations from 1-4 p.m.
Cookies and cider will be served. Admission is free.
Fair St. Louis, St. Louis’ free Fourth of July celebration kicks off Wednesday with two morning runs and the VP parade and continues with three days of entertainment including an air show on the grounds of the Gateway Arch.
An 8 p.m. performance by the music duo Heart and a huge fireworks spectacular cap off the evening.

Kids Zone, Interactive Zone/Toyota Creation Station will keep the little ones happy throughout the day.
The free entertainment continues Friday evening with Third Eye Blind and Saturday evening with Dierks Bentley.
Two more two weekends of free music at Soldiers Memorial follows at the Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concerts. Neon Trees performs on July 13, Michael Franti & Spearhead on July 14, The Offspring on July 20, and St. Louis’ own Nelly on July 21!
This year is the 32nd year for the annual Fair Saint Louis celebration.
Walking tours of the Gateway Arch grounds in downtown St. Louis are given daily at 10:30 a.m. until Sept. 3.
The free ranger-led tours will cover various topics including colonial St. Louisthe history of the park grounds and construction of the Arch.
Walkers should meet at the north leg of the Arch.
Now through Sept. 3 you can take a walk around the Gateway Arch grounds with a ranger and learn about various topics such a colonial St. Louis, the history of grounds and the history of the Arch.
Participants should meet at the north leg of the Arch at 10:30 any day of the week for the tour. The Arch is located on the Mississippi Riverfront in downtown St. Louis.

You’re in luck. There’s plenty of free and cheap activities on tap in the Lou this weekend–from an ice carnival in the loop to dreaming about rambling in a new RV at the St. Louis RV and Travel Show.
If you love eagles, this is your weekend–Alton is offering an eagle meet-and-great and Eagle Days will be underway at the old Chain of Rocks Bridge.
And, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, admission to the Arch is free.

In commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, admission to the Gateway Arch, officially known as the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, in downtown St. Louis will be free this weekend, Jan. 14-16. Fees for the tram ride to the top of the Arch and films at the park will remain in effect.
The National Park Service is offering free admission to more than 100 national parks this weekend.
Other National Park Service free admission days this year:

- June 9, Get Outdoors Day
- September 29, National Public Lands Day
- November 10-12, Veterans Day weekend

It’s a 1772 Twelfth Night (afternoon ball) with the dancing of Deborah Hyland and music by Dennis Stroughmatt et L’Esprit Creole from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7. Complimentary cookies and cider will be served. The program is free and open to the public.
