The series feature sizzling sounds of some of the most diverse and popular musical acts in the region at its FREE concerts at noon every Thursday during June and July at the Old Post Office Plaza (between Eighth and Ninth Streets on Locust)
Here’s the lineup so you can mark your calendar early:
June 2: Park Avenue Jazz – Featuring John Farrar, the band performs traditional jazz with rich guitar work.*
June 9: Swing Set – Performs jazz from the 1930s and ’40s. Jump, jive, and wail with swing, jump, ballads, Latin, polkas, and waltzes.
June 16: Dubtronix – Fronted by veteran KDHX programmer DJ Ranx, Dubtronix is a heavy reggae dub band that glides from smooth to spirited, sometimes in the space of a single song.
June 23, Farshid Etniko – Exotic music featuring Middle Eastern instruments and Latin beats.
June 30, BoogieFoot. Features music with an R&B, funk, and classic rock kick.
July 7, Magnolia Summer –A roots-rock band with a similar feel Wilco and Son Volt. They’ve shared the stage with greats like Matthew Sweet, The Counting Crows, Cracker, and Robyn Hitchcock.
July 14, Half Knots, Indie-rock music combining dulcimer, guitar, piano, and strings.
July 21, Alvin Jett & Phat Noiz – With a unique style of original music and blues, R&B, and rock standards.
July 28, Sweet & Low – A guitar duo performing standards and pop favorites.

Need a pick-me-up after the Soulard Blues Cruise?
Then come to the All-Star Blues Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the Great Grizzly Bear, 1027 Geyer Ave. in Soulard. It’s all part of the St. Louis Bluesweek Festival that continues with free concerts Memorial Day weekend.
Bob “Bumblebee” Kamoskeand the Stingers will host a sit-in jam session, and Bob Case and friends will entertain acoustically. Admission is $15 at the door.
The menu includes eggs, bloody Marys and the Blues.
The Blues Week Festival kicks off tonight with the “Blues Cruise,” featuring stops at nine venues in St. Louis’ Soulard neighborhood.
Admission is $10 and includes shuttle service to the stops.The event begins at 9 p.m. and runs to 1 a.m.

All good things must come to an end. And so it is for Rockin’ On The Landing, those three groovin’ days of music by original St. Louis bands and cover groups in Laclede’s Landing just north of the Gateway Arch
So head for historic Laclede’s Landing where the rockin’ begins at noon and goes on to 11 p.m. with time to take in the fireworks display on the St. Louis Riverfront.

The rules:
- Rockin’ On The Landing attendees can bring folding chairs but are asked not to bring any coolers, grilling equipment or outside food/drinks.

Happy Birthday, America!
It’s the final jam-packed day for Fair St. Louis with Montgomery Gentry headlining the entertainment tonight and, of course, fireworks capping off the night at 9:15 p.m.
Despite the cancellation of the concert and fireworks due to weather yesterday, the Fair resumes at 11 a.m. today.

Throughout the fair, a variety of cultural organizations will perform on the Purina Cultural Stage north of the Arch.
The Ameren Missouri/Schnucks Kids Zone on the south teardrop of the Gateway Arch grounds will have free performances and hands-on activities for families.
The rules:
- Everyone attending Fair Saint Louis must pass through one of five security stations to get unto the Arch grounds.
- Visitors to Fair Saint Louis will be allowed to bring individual serving plastic bottles onto the Arch grounds as long as security personnel can ensure they do not contain alcohol.
- No coolers or large liquid containers will be allowed.
- No glass bottles, aluminum bottles/cans or alcohol be allowed.
America’s Biggest Birthday Party continues under the Arch in downtown St. Louis this weekend.
Fair St. Louis is just warming up. Two more days of music, entertainment, air shows and fireworks remai.
Maroon 5 and Montgomery Gentry headline the entertainment lineup with fireworks capping off each night at 9:15 p.m.
