Free: Soulard Mardi Gras–U.S. Cellular Family Winter Carnival

Get in the Mardi Gras spirit with SSM Cardinal Glennon Family Winter Carnival, a free family-friendly event in the Soulard neighborhood that includes a children’s parade and a day full of activities held in a large tent.

The event begins at 11 a.m. in St. Louis’ Soulard Market Park at 8th and Lafayette.

Rally Squirrel and Fredbird will make special appearances at the carnival. Entertainment includes Muny Kids and Bobaloo.

Activities include:

  • Decorate Your-Own Masks
  • Decorate Your own Crowns
  • Make Your Own Beads
  • Decorate Your Own King’s and Queens Capes
  • Face painting
  • Art wall on which children can create their own piece of art
  • SSM Cardinal Glennon Safety Corner offering safety tips for children and parents
  • Interactive games

The children’s parade starts at 4 p.m.

St. Louis Cardinals Winter Warm-Up Continues Today and Tomorrow In St. Louis

The St. Louis Cardinals’ Winter Warmup continues today and tomorrow at the Hyatt Regency, St. Louis at the Arch, in downtown St. Louisat 315 Chestnut St.  Hours are  9 a.m.-5 p.m., today and  9 a.m.-5 p.m., tomorrow.

Attendees can get autographs and chat with their favorite players, fans can learn about St. Louis baseball beginnings, the history of the Cardinals and what’s happening in the minor leagues.

They can attend question and answer sessions with players, team officials and broadcasters, meet Fredbird and bid in several auctions.

A highlight of the day is having your picture taken with the Cardinals World Series trophy.

Admission gives you access to many players who will sign autographs but others require an autograph ticket requiring an additional donation.

Tickets are $40 for age 16 and older, $10 for kids 5-15 and free for kids under five.  Members of the military, police and fire departments with an active ID can receive one free adult pass that must be obtained in person at the event.

Proceeds benefit Cardinals Care, the team’s community foundation supporting kids.

St. Louis Cardinals Winter Warm-Up This Weekend In St. Louis

Get a taste of spring and the 2012 baseball season with members of St. Louis’ favorite team this weekend at the Cardinals’ Winter Warmup.

 

The event kicks off today at the Hyatt Regency, St. Louis at the Arch, in downtown St. Louis at 315 Chestnut St.

 

In addition to being able to get autographs and chat with their favorite players, fans can learn about St. Louis baseball beginnings, the history of the Cardinals and what’s happening in the minor leagues. They can even hear Cardinals’ team physician, Dr. Wendell Becton discuss “Caring for the 2011 World Champions.”

 

Fans can also:

 

  • participate in several auctions
  • meet Fredbird.
  • attend Q&A sessions with players, broadcasters and team officials. C
  • have a picture taken with the Cardinals World Series trophy.

 

Many players’ autographs are free with your 2012 Winter Warm-Up admission pass, while others will require an autograph ticket available through a specific additional donation.

  • 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun., Jan 15

Free Redbirds Opening Day Rallies Set For Thursday

At least two free opening day rallies are set for the baseball Cardinals in downtown St. Louis on Thursday.

Y98 and PNC Bank will hold their Opening Day Rally from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kiener Plaza.  My Friend Mike will provide live music and there will be  games, giveaways and drinks. Former Cardinals Mike Matheny and John Mabry will also be signing autographs from 11 a.m. till noon at the PNC Bank Tent.

Opening Day ticket giveaways will be part of the biggest party of the baseball season at the official St. Louis Cardinals opening day pep rally from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ballpark Village. The event will be at Clark Street and Broadway. Former Cardinals will be on hand for the event and music will be by Trixie Delight, courtesy of Hardee’s, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Team Fredbird will raffle off Cardinals tickets, autographed pictures and merchandise) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fredbird will appear from 12:30  p. m. -1:30 p. m.
Danny Cox and John Mabry will sign autographs from 1-1:30 p. m. at the St. Louis Cardinals booth
Danny Cox, John Mabry and John Rooney will do a Q & A from 1:30 p. m. to 1:45 p.m.
