Free: Classes, Demos On Thanksgiving Dishes At St. Louis Area Williams-Sonoma Stores This Month

If it’s your turn to do the turkey this Thanksgiving, you’ll find this month’s free cooking technique classes and product and cooking demonstrations at Williams-Sonoma helpful.  They’re all dedicated to the bird and other holiday dishes.

Williams-Sonoma’s culinary experts cover the art and science of  in the cooking technique classes.  Each class focuses on a specific culinary topic, from the best way to work with specific ingredients, cookware and tools to creative ideas for seasonal meals.

The technique classes last an hour and include tastings of the prepared dishes. They are free but class size is limited and registration at your local store is required. Class times vary by store location. Participants get a 10 percent discount on select same-day store purchases.

Usually the tech classes are offered on Sundays but this month, they’lll be offered on both Sundays and Mondays.

On Nov. 20-21 the topic is: All-Star Thanksgiving

At the demos you can learn about the brands the store carries and see them in action. You’ll also get helpful tips for cooking and entertaining. This month’s demos include topics such as:

  • No-fuss gravy
  • Classic potatoes
  • Brining
  • Sips of the Season
  • Holiday gift solutions
  • Sides and stuffings

These free drop-in demos doe not require reservations although they are recommended for the more popular sessions. The demos are available at all stores but demo times vary by location. Those interested should call their local store for more information.

Free And Cheap Fun In St. Louis This Weekend, Nov. 4-6, 2011

It’s November, the time of the year when many cities are winding down for the year.

But not St. Louis! Free Kids Class At Home Depot

Each month on the first Saturday, kids can build a project at Home Depot’s free workshops for kids. This Saturday the project will be a Number 20 Joey Logano racing car.

The workshops are from 9 a.m. to noon. and are designed for kids ages 5 to 12.  Kids get to take home their project, an orange apron, an achievement pin and a diploma.
