OPA! Greek Festival Returns To Town & Country This Weekend

Assumption Greek Orthodox Church's Greek Fest

Opa! Don’t miss your chance to go to Greece without having to deal with the TSA.

Just Venture out to 1755 Des Peres Road in Town & Country for our favorite spring festival–Greek Fest at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

The festival runs through Memorial Day, May 26, 2014. Admission is FREE.

Greek entertainment is almost non-stop a the festival, there’s a special kids corner and a traditional Greek gift shop. You can also get a tour of the beautiful church.

Then there’s the food–luscious gyros, roasted chicken, lamb shank, shish-me-bob and tiro pita. Pass the spanakopita! You can see the entire menu here. Of course, no Greek meal is complete without a slice of baklava or one of the other delicious desserts you’ll find at the festival.

Free: Missouri History Museum To Present Documentary On Dana Brown

The Missouri History Museum will present “Dana Brown: Life on Safari,” a documentary about the life of a prominent St. Louis business executive and traveler, at noon Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in the AT&T Foundation multipurpose room.

Brown was famous for his commercials for his Safari Coffee.

The museum is located at Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue in Forest Park.

60th St. Louis Boat & Sportshow This Weekend At America's Center

John GodwinThe Progressive 60th St. Louis Boat & Sportshow is underway this weekend at America’s Center, 701 Convention Center Plaza in downtown St. Louis.

Nearly 1,000 boats of all kinds–from fishing boats to cruising boats to those designed for family fun–are on display.  There are boats for every activity, lifestyle and budget.

There’s more to the show, though, than boats, boats, boats.

John Godwin from A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty will meet and greet fans from noon to 2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m., Saturday, March 1.

New this year from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday is Anchors & Ales, a night of sampling local craft beers. Tickets are $10 each with a paid adult admission at the show .  You can also buy a ticket online for $20 (includes  admission to the show)  Anchors & Ales ticket price includes limited edition sampling glass and 10 tasting tickets. The following breweries are participating:

Show-goers can browse the latest in boating, fishing and hunting gear at dozens of  specialty booths, and they can visit outfitters and resorts to plan their next trip or book a vacation.

They can also get tips from the pros at the Boating and Outdoor Classroom, presented by Allstate. At Fred’s Shed DIY Center, new this year, they can get tips from the pros at the Boating and Outdoor Classroom, presented by Allstate. Those who bring a bathing suit can experience the DEMA dive tank.

Kids will enjoy Kids’ Cove where they can check out the free Becky Thatcher Trout Pond and Captain Tim and Gypsy Rose III Landship.

St. Louis RV Show At America's Center This Weekend

The 37th St. Louis RV Vacation and Travel Show opens at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis on Thursday and runs through Sunday, January 12, 2014. Seniors get a discount on admission on Friday.

The show brings together a huge collection of motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, vans, pop-up campers and truck campers together under one roof for attendees to explore. Vendors will also showcase campgrounds, resorts and travel destinations. RV products and services will be sold.

Special presentations include John Holod and his “Roads To Adventure Films,” River Hills Traveler Magazine  writers presenting information on traveling the Ozark Region, and the hills, forests and streams of Missouri and Dealer Resources Group rep, J.D. Overstreet, with talks about RV products.

 Show hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $9 for adults; $4 for children 6-12 years and free for children five and under. Seniors (60 years and older) get a discount on Friday only when they will be admitted for $6.

Free: Brentwood Travel's Cruise Expo This Weekend

Then cruise on over to West County Shopping Center, I-270 and Manchester Road this weekend. That’s where Brentwood Travel will hold its 23rd annual Cruise Expo this, Jan. 25-27.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. It’s FREE.

The event features 16 cruise lines, upgrades and gifts.  You can also enter to win a free cruise for two on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

RV Vacation and Travel Show At St. Louis' America's Center This Weekend

RV Camping and Travel ShowEscape the winter doldrums at the RV Vacation & Travel Show at America’s Center this weekend where you can browse what more than 300 vendors are offering.

On display will be motorhomes, sport trailers, fifth wheels, travel trailers and pop-up campers. Also on hand will be representatives of various campgrounds and resorts and companies selling camping and RV products.

Show-goers can also get a look at Route 66, Alaska and the Rocky Mountains through John Holod’s  RV videos. The Route 66 video will be shown Thursday at 12:30, 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. You can see the Alaska video at

1:30, 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 1:30 p.m., Sunday.

You can also get tips on how to travel with your dog from dog trainer Shannon Mayfield.

If you are bringing the kids along, don’t forget your camera. “Yogi Bear” and “Boo-Boo”  will be on hand thanks to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ at Pine Lakes, Pittsfield, Ill.

Show hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
