The Giving Tree Band will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Bluebird Park , of off Kiefer Creek Road, Ellisville.
The band plays folk, rock, bluegrass and country music.
The event is part of the Bluebird Park Concert Series. Other performances in the series are Erin Bode on July 19 and Billy Peek on July 26.
Gary Sluhan and the Strange Birds will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at New Ballwin Park on New Ballwin Road a half-mile south of Manchester Road, Ballwin.
The band specializes in the music of Jimmy Buffett, Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin, and Cat Stevens.
The event is part of the city’s Sunset Concert Series. Its last concert features Loran Cavano and the The High Road on July 25.
The Thornhill branch of the St. Louis County Library will show “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012. The branch is at 12863 Willowyck Drive, west St. Louis County.
The animated movie is about the Chipmunks and Chipettes accidentally going overboard from a cruise ship and ending up marooned in a tropical paradise.
Fanfare will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Louis Place Park, St. Louis, Rauschenbach and St. Louis avenues. The band features vocalist Kittie Moller. It plays Motown, rhythm and blues, disco, pop, country, standards, jazz and big band.
The Whitaker Foundation sponsors a concert series at the park that will end with Arvell & Co. on July 19.
