 University City Summer Concert Band
The University City Summer Concert Band will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the Market in the Loop Plaza between Kingsland and Leland avenues, University City.
The band plays light classical, Broadway and popular music.
The band will have concerts on July 17 and July 24 at the same location.
The Abbey Road Warriors, a Beatles tribute band, will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Faust Park in Chesterfield. The park is north of Olive Boulevard east of Highway 40.
Listeners can buy food, beer, wine, soda, water, popcorn and candy at the event.
The performance is part of a series. Playing in other concerts are Mirage on July 17, NONSTOP on July 24, Fanfare on July 31, Triology on Aug. 7 and Wizard Island Band on Aug. 14.
 Swampweed Cajun Band
The Swampweed Cajun Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 in Tower Grove Park, St. Louis, South Grand Avenue and Arsenal Street.
The program is the second of six concerts the Compton Heights Concert Band sponsors 7:30 p.m. Mondays in the park. Other concerts highlight St. Louis Osuwa Taiko, July 16; the Singing Boys of Pennsylvania and the Keystone Girls Choir, July 23; the Sins of the Pioneers, July 30, and Red Lehr and the St. Louis Rivermen, Aug. 6.

The Grand Glaize Branch of the St. Louis County Library will show “The Smurfs” at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012. The branch is at 1010 Meramec Station Road, Manchester.
The movie is about the tiny blue Smurfs coping with New York City after an evil wizard chases them from their home.
The Florissant Valley branch of the St. Louis County Library will show “The Incredibles” at 6 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012. The branch is at 195 New Florissant Road South, Florissant.
The animated movie is about a family of undercover superheroes who are forced to save the world.
The Daniel Boone branch library will show “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012. The branch is at 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville.
The movie is about a businessman whose life changes after he inherits six penguins.
 Wil Maring
Vocalist Wil Maring and guitarist and fiddler Robert Bowlin will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Monday July 9, 2012 at Bellerive Park at South Broadway and Bates Street, St. Louis.
The Wil Maring website says the duo perform “acoustic music which straddles the fence between bluegrass, folk and country music.”
