Today you can get into 133 national parks across the country free today, Saturday, June 9 as part of National Get Outdoors Day.
The day is one of three this year that allows access to the national parks without paying a cent.
Get Outdoors Day supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign against childhood obesity.
During fee-free days such as Get Outdoors Day, the National Park Service waives entrance fees, commercial tour fees and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as camping, tours and fees collected by concessionaires are still charged.
In St. Louis entry to the Gateway Arch is free today but the charge for the tram to the top and for movies shown at the Arch continue to be in effect.
