Free: 'In Search Of The Mastodon' At The Missouri History Museum

Families will love “In Search of the Mastodon,” a tale of an archaeologist’s search for information about Missouri’s prehistoric Mastodons–with a very special celebrity appearance!

The free event takes place at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, Dec. 17, Dec. 27 and Dec. 30 in MacDermott Grand Hall at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis’ Forest Park.

The program is in conjunction with “Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age,” an exhibit that runs through April 15, 2012 (date subject to change). Admission to the exhibit is is $15 for adults; $13 for seniors/students/military members/tour groups; $10 for children 6-12 and free for children 3 and younger and K-12 school groups with advance reservations.

The Field Museum exhibition includes video, hands-on interactive displays, life-sized models, fossil tusks and skulls—and even touchable teeth.
