The Daniel Boone branch of the St. Louis County Library will show The Social Network at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. The branch is at 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville.
The move is about the founders of Facebook, the social network site.
The branch will serve refreshments.

 The Fighter
The Daniel Boone branch of the St. Louis County Library will show The Fighter at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. The branch is at 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville.
The movie is about “Irish” Micky Ward’s roads to the world light welterweight title.
The branch will serve refreshments.

 Lady and the Tramp
The Cliff Cave branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Lady and the Tramp at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012. The branch is at 5430 Telegraph Road, Oakville.
The animated Walt Disney classic is about the adventures of a pampered Cocker Spaniel and a wandering mutt.
The branch will serve snacks.

 Monet's water lillies
The public can see the St. Louis Art Museum‘s Monet’s Water Lillies exhibit for free on Fridays. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays. The museum offers only timed-entry tickets to the exhibit which runs until Jan. 22.
Artist Claude Monet‘s pond in his garden at Giverny, just west of Paris, inspired the three panels of the water lillies. The Saint Louis Art Museum, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and The Cleveland Museum of Art, each holds one of the panels of about 7 feet by 14 feet. The panels were last seen together in 1980 at the St. Louis Art Museum.
The St. Louis Art Museum is in Forest Park on Fine Arts Drive.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. It is closed Mondays. On days other than Fridays, the museum exhibit charges are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, $6 for children 6 to 12. It’s free for children younger than 6. An audio tour that accompanies the exhibit is included in the price of $8 and $10 tickets. Audio tours are available on Fridays for $3.
 Mom Needs Mars
The Tesson Ferry branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Mars Needs Mom at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. The branch is at 9920 Lin-Ferry Drive, Green Park.
The movie is about a young boy named Milo who gains a deeper appreciation for his mother after Martians take her away.

 Cars 2
The Indian Trails branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Cars 2 at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. The branch is at 8400 Delport Drive, Vinita Park.
The animated movie is about Star race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater who go overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But Mater gets caught up in international espionage.
 Elf
The Thornhill branch of the St. Louis County Library will show Elf, a Christmas season movie, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. The branch is at 12863 Willowyck Drive in west St. Louis County.
The movie is about a man raised as an elf at the North Pole who is sent to the United States to find his true identity.

More than 15 billion wine corks end up in the landfill each year.
That’s according to Whole Foods which says you can recycle your corks by dropping them off in their wine department to help save the cork forests.
The corks will be recycled into building materials.
