It’s Vineyard Days, this weekend Aug. 6-7, at Stone Hill Winery in Hermann.

The free event gives visitors an educational look at mechanized vineyard equipment and the techniques behind the winery’s grape-growing and winemaking success.

For Stone Hill’s first Vineyard Days, state-of-the-art mechanized vineyard equipment will be displayed on the winery grounds. Visitors can get an up-close look at the harvester, as well as other specialized equipment used in day-to-day vineyard operations.

Also on display will be informational panels filled with images and technical details of not only harvest but the year-round vineyard maintenance required for a successful one. Staff members will be available to explain grape-growing and harvest fundamentals, answer questions about the equipment and even operate the equipment to offer a realistic view of how things actually function in the vineyard.
