The free event gives visitors an educational look at mechanized vineyard equipment and the techniques behind the winery’s grape-growing and winemaking success.
For Stone Hill’s first Vineyard Days, state-of-the-art mechanized vineyard equipment will be displayed on the winery grounds. Visitors can get an up-close look at the harvester, as well as other specialized equipment used in day-to-day vineyard operations.
Also on display will be informational panels filled with images and technical details of not only harvest but the year-round vineyard maintenance required for a successful one. Staff members will be available to explain grape-growing and harvest fundamentals, answer questions about the equipment and even operate the equipment to offer a realistic view of how things actually function in the vineyard.
Vineyard Days will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7.
Mike and Janelle, a rock’n blues duo from New Haven, Missouri, will provide live music at the event.
The jazz band Musica SLESA will close this year’s Starlight Concert Series in Heman Park in University City. The concert will be at the south side of the park near Midland Boulevard and Shaftesbury Avenue.
The band combines Latin jazz and bebop to try to inspire its audiences.
