'Treat Me In St. Louis' Pass Saves You Money At Top Attractions

We love anything that saves money so the new Treat Me in St. Louis is a hit with us.

To celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood will show Gnomeo and Juliet at Adams Park (4317 Vista).

The event, which is free, will be held at 8 p.m.

Free: MUSYC Concert at New Ballwin Park Tonight

The MUSYC singers

Ballwin presents a concert by MUSYC, which plays songs from the ’60s and early ’70s, at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, July 27), at New Ballwin Park, one mile south of Manchester Road on New Ballwin Road.

People coming to the concert should bring a blanket or chair for the outdoor event.

Among the songs MUSYC plays  selections from James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, CSNY, Beatles and the Beach Boys.

Free: Erin Bode Group Performs At Missouri Botanical Garden's Whitaker Music Festival Tonight

The Erin Bode Group performs tonight at the Whitaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Here’s what the Garden’s website has to say about Bode:

Since appearing on the music scene in 2001, Erin has become one of St. Louis’ favorite entertainers. Her beautiful voice and thoughtful arrangements of jazz and popular songs are well documented on recordings. Fans will be delighted at her return to the Garden!

The performance is at 7:30 p.m. with last entry at 9 p.m.  Admission to the Garden on Wednesday is free after 5 p.m.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic supper, baskets, or coolers. Picnic fare is also available for purchase on site, including brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, cheese and grape plates, sno-cones, chips, cookies, beer, wine, and soda.

The festival is funded by the Whitaker Foundation, which supports St. Louis arts and parks promoting common heritage and celebrating diversity.

Oil Change: $15.99 plus tax, disposal at Bess Automotive

Need an oil change?  The price at Tom Bess Automotive, 4922 Macklind Ave., is hard to beat. It’s just under 20 bucks. A change of five quarts of oil will cost you $15.99. With the $2 disposal fee and $1.51 tax, that’s $19.50 out the door.

You can make an appointment or stop by to see if they have time to do change your oil then. Unfortunately, there are no weekend or evening hours. Tom Bess Automotive is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. It’s at 4922 Macklind Ave. You can call 314-353-9936. There’s no website.
