The concert at 6 p.m. today, July 17, 2011 at the Gentry Park Band Shell, features Butch Wax & the Hollywoods. The park is on the west side of Fee Fee Road south of Natural Bridge Road.
The band plays classic songs from the 1950′s, 1960′s and 1970′s. Among them are with by Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, the Supremes, the Temptations, Four Tops, Johnny Rivers, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Fats Domino, and the Righteous Brothers.
Butch Wax & The Hollywoods have been main stage performers during most of those 26 years. The band has a brand new show for this year.
Fairgoers to the 142nd Jersey County Fair can reach for the stars with this year’s star studded line-up, including NTPA Grand National reigning champion “Silver Bullet” driven by Jordan Lustik, the nation’s best riders of freestyle motocross and the Hall Brother’s Monster Truck Racing Team. Rhythm and blues saxophonist Tim Cuningham will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Ellisville’s Bluebird Park, 225 Kiefer Creek Road.
The park is off Kiefer Creek Road south of Manchester Road.
“Smooth and sultry, cool, yet definitely funky,” is the way Cunningham’s website describes his music. . These words best describe the sound of R&B saxophonist, Tim Cunningham.
