Free: O'Fallon's Heritage And Freedom Fest Winds Up Today; Fireworks Spectacular Tonight

O’Fallon’s Heritage and Freedom Fest continues today, July 4, at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex, 2650 Tri-Sports Circle. Activities begin at noon.

Entertainment schedule:

Final Chance To Rock In St. Louis' Laclede's Landing This Fourth Of July Weekend

All good things must come to an end. And so it is for Rockin’ On The Landing, those three groovin’ days of music by original St. Louis bands and cover groups  in Laclede’s Landing just north of the Gateway Arch

So head for historic Laclede’s Landing where the rockin’ begins at noon and goes on to 11 p.m. with time to take in the fireworks display on the St. Louis Riverfront.

Monday’s schedule:

2-4:30: Rickie Lee Tanner

5-6:30: Candy Coburn

7-9:30: Whiskey Dixon

10-11: Whiskey Dixon

The rules:

  • Rockin’ On The Landing attendees can bring folding chairs but are asked not to bring any coolers, grilling equipment or outside food/drinks.
  • Festival staff can confiscate these items at their discretion.

Final Day At Fair St. Louis In Downtown St. Louis: Montgomery Gentry Performs Tonight

 

Happy Birthday, America!

It’s the final jam-packed day for Fair St. Louis with Montgomery Gentry headlining the entertainment tonight and, of course, fireworks capping off the night at 9:15 p.m.

Despite the cancellation of the concert and fireworks due to weather yesterday, the Fair resumes at 11 a.m. today.

 

Today’s schedule:

11-1:30 p.m., DJ Karizma, Steve Wolley
3:30-6 p.m., Fair Saint Louis Music Video Contest Winner, Jake Austin and the City Limits
6:30 p.m., The Five and Dimers
10 p.m., Fair Saint Louis closes

Throughout the fair, a variety of cultural organizations will perform on the Purina Cultural Stage north of the Arch.

The Ameren Missouri/Schnucks Kids Zone on the south teardrop of the Gateway Arch grounds will have free performances and hands-on activities for families.

The rules:

  • Everyone attending Fair Saint Louis must pass through one of five security stations to get unto the Arch grounds.
  • Visitors to Fair Saint Louis will be allowed to bring individual serving plastic bottles onto the Arch grounds as long as security personnel can ensure they do not contain alcohol.
  • No coolers or large liquid containers will be allowed.
  • No glass bottles, aluminum bottles/cans or alcohol be allowed.

Free: Special Events Today At The Old Courthouse In Downtown St. Louis

Visitors to the Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis today will have a chance to experience the sights and sounds of history with special performances in this historic building decorated with an array of patriotic 19th century displays, including a 33-star 36×20-foot garrison flag suspended from the fifth-level balcony.

Living History volunteers and National Park Service Rangers in historic period clothing will present 1861 Fourth of July celebrations featuring music, tours, speeches and firing demonstrations.

Visitors will also be able to “vote” in an 1861 city election, “pay” their 1861 taxes and become a naturalized citizen.  Union soldiers will enlist
new recruits of all ages and train them in Civil War drills, and historic weapons firing demonstrations will be conducted each hour at Luther Ely
Smith Square.

All programs are free of and open to the public.

The Old Courthouse, with the Gateway Arch,  is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. The Gateway Arch will close at 8 p.m. today.
