Looking For A True Family Mardi Gras? Try Delta Dental Mardi Gras

Saint Louis Zoo

If you’re looking for a true family Mardi Gras event, head to the The Saint Louis Zoo in Forest Park on Sunday. Kids can get into the spirit by making their own Mardi Gras-style masks with sequins, glitter and feathers and marching in the parade. There will also be beads and face painting. Bob Case with his band Wild Accusations will provide the music. Visitors can enjoy “Land of Smiles” performance at 11:30 p.m. in Anheuser-Busch Theater in The Living World.

Radio Disney AM 1260 performers will be crazy games with visitors for prizes while listening to Radio Disney tunes.

Join the fun by turning a kiddie wagon or stroller into a Mardi Gras parade float. There’ll be three categories of prizes:

  • Best penguin float
  • Best in Mardi Gras style
  • Best float made with recycled materials

Register your float online by today or  from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in The Living World. Registration is free. Click here for parade float rules, regulations and registration form.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Living World and it’s free! 
The activities are geared to kids ages 2-10. The parade’s at 3 p.m. and will be led by the Zoo’s costumed character penguin and Delta Dental costumed characters “Tooth Wizard” and “P.A.N.D.A.”

Soulard Mardi Gras-River City Casino Grand Parade On Saturday

 

It’s Mardi Gras time! Get in parade gear this Saturday as the Soulard Mardi Gras-River City Casino Grand Parade kicks off at 11 a.m.  Saturday.  Wild  floats, crazy costumes, marching bands, colorful masks and maybe a few beads are all part of the  fun–and it’s all  free.

The parade starts at Busch Stadium, makes its way through the historic Soulard neighborhood and winds up at Anheuser Busch.

Free Kids Class At Home Depot

Each month on the first Saturday, kids can build a project at Home Depot’s free workshops for kids. This Saturday the project will be a Number 20 Joey Logano racing car.

The workshops are from 9 a.m. to noon. and are designed for kids ages 5 to 12.  Kids get to take home their project, an orange apron, an achievement pin and a diploma.
